A PERSON has reportedly been hit by a train near Taunton.
The incident happened around 5pm and trains were cancelled between Taunton and Bristol.
The line has now reopened by delays of up to 90 minutes are expected until the end of the day.
A National Rail spokesman said: "Emergency services have dealt with the incident that involved a person having been hit by a train between Bridgwater and Taunton.
"This has allowed lines to reopen however; trains between Bristol Temple Meads / Castle Cary and Taunton will still be disrupted while services return to normal. Trains may be delayed by up to 90 minutes or cancelled until 9pm."

National Rail has posted that GWR customers are able to use South Western Railway services.

It is believed passengers were told that someone had jumped into the path of the train.
One commuter, who didn't wish to be named, said: "It started at 5pm after Bridgwater, just before Taunton.
"That whole line to Plymouth and Cornwall is closed from Burnham.
"The A38 is closed so the coaches coming from Bristol can't drop those travelling further south.
"I imagine many trains have been cancelled.
"The train manager and staff at Weston told us."
