TRAFFIC problems along the A358 at Donyatt near Ilminster have been made worse this morning due to faulty traffic lights at roadworks on the entrance to the village.

The lights appear to be stuck on red for those vehicles wishing to travel through Donyatt towards Chard.

Cllr Jill Shortland, of Somerset County Council, has raised the issue with the highways department at County Hall.

"I've been told that the road through Donyatt is fine and has been inspected, but the traffic lights are stuck on red with contractors on their way," she said.

Motorists are being advised to take extra caution while out driving with the snow still falling which will make the roads even more dangerous than they already are.
