STUDENTS thinking of nursing as a career are invited to spend a day with members of the nursing teams at Yeovil District Hospital.

On Saturday, November 15, there will be an opportunity for the nurses of tomorrow to learn more about the roles of nursing within the NHS.

Nursing students and members of staff will be on hand to meet those who attend and there will be plenty of advice on applying for a university place to study nursing as well as opportunity to learn about simulated training.

The event will be held in the hospital's academy and lunch will be provided. It is aimed at students aged 16 and above.

Helen Ryan, director of nursing, said: “This event is a fantastic opportunity to gain a greater understanding of the diverse opportunity nursing offers and meet some of our healthcare professionals and nursing students who will be able to share their experiences.”

There is a £50 charge for attendance to cover costs, refreshments and lunch during the day.
