DOG owners in South Somerset are being reminded to pick up after their pets this winter or risk a fine.
Enforcement officers will be stepping up patrols with the darker nights in a bid to catch offenders.
Dog owners could be given a fixed penalty notice for £80 and failure to pay could lead to a fine of up to £1,000.
Incidents of dog fouling can be reported confidentially to the council on 01935-462462.
