A DRIVER had to be removed by emergency crews this morning following a road traffic collision on the A303.
Ambulance, fire and police crews attended the scene after reports of a RTC involving a HGV and a car.
When crews arrived, they found a person trapped inside the car.
Firemen worked alongside paramedics and the police to remove the roof and doors of the vehicle with heavy rescue cutting gear to access the casualty.
The driver of the lorry was already free of the vehicle when fire crews arrived.
One person was taken to hospital by ambulance.
The incident happened just before noon on the A303 Eastbound Southfields to South Petherton.
