THE roof of a car had to be cut to free a person following a two-vehicle car crash on the A303.

Police, ambulance and fire crews attended the incident near the Cartgate Roundabout at 10.10am, following a crash involving two cars. 

Two fire engines from Martock and Yeovil were called out, and the rescue tender from Yeovil.

One person was medically trapped and crews removed the roof using hydraulic cutting equipment to free the person before being handed over to paramedics.

Another person was also released from another vehicle.
