IT is going to be an action packed day in Chard and Ilminster tomorrow, with three big community events being held in the area.

The Ilminster Fete and Fun Day is being held on Saturday from 12 noon until 4pm in aid of Cygnet Pre-School.

The event is being held on the Swanmead School Field. There is set to be demonstrations, craft stalls, competitions and food.

Also set for Saturday is the first Combe St Nicholas village open day.

The big fundraiser will feature a host of events around the village, including local artist’s work on display in the village hall, both churches in the village will be open with cream teas being served, a scarecrow competition is being held, there will be a flower exhibition in the church, and a bouncy castle will be on site.

Finally, in Chard there is going to be a holiday show in the Guildhall.

The event will see a host of companies displaying dream destinations and the latest products for the town's residents.

It is going to run from 9am until 3pm.

There will also be a coffee morning in St Mary's church rooms from 10am until 12 noon.
