GREENFYLDE First School welcomed KS2 children from schools in Crewkerne and Ilminster for a gymnastics festival.

It was the first ever gymnastics festival to be organised and held at the school cluster and took place on Monday, January 30.

A spkesperson for the school said: "It was with four of our partnership schools and it was wonderful to see so many staff/parents and children enjoying the opportunity."

The festival was led by coach, Germaine Tuff, who shared her expertise by teaching the children a floor routine and gave them top tips to improve their performance.

Finally, children from each school were encouraged to perform their routine to everyone to celebrate their success.

The spokesperson added: "Even in the relatively short amount of time we had, the children made amazing progress with their gymnastics and performance skills.

"It was a great success and inspiring to see so many children involved and working together to improve their gymnastics.

"Our thanks go to Germaine for leading this session and to all the schools who helped support the event."
