A WOMAN who was left with 'life-threatening' injuries after a crash on A303 is now in a stable condition, police have confirmed.

The woman, believed to be in her 60s, was rushed to hospital by air ambulance following the crash at around 1.40pm yesterday (April 24).

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset police said: "We're continuing to appeal for witnesses and information following a crash on the A303 on Tuesday afternoon, 24 April, which has left a woman in hospital.

"Three vehicles were involved in the collision between Ilminster and South Petherton at about 1.40pm - a black BMW and a silver Mitsubishi L200, both travelling east, and a black Mini heading westbound.

"The driver of the Mini, believed to be a woman in her 60s from Yeovil, was taken to hospital by ambulance where she remains in a stable condition."

The road was closed for investigation and recovery of the vehicles, and reopened by Highways England at about 7.30pm.

Police are especially keen to hear from the driver of a green Mini believed to have been travelling behind the BMW.

The crash occured after a black BMW and a silver 4x4 collided on the eastbound carriageway.

The silver 4x4 then collided with a black Mini on the westbound carriageway.
