PEOPLE in South Somerset are being encouraged to come together for a global day of worship as part of the Women's World Day of Prayer on Friday, March 6.

The service, prepared by Christian women in Papua New Guinea, will begin at sunrise in Tonga and travel around the world until the sun sets in neighbouring Western Samoa.

This year's service will be held at Martock Christian Fellowship Church, Martock, at 2.30pm.

The speaker will be Janet Duplock, of South Petherton, and refreshments will follow.
