WESTFIELD Community School science teacher Katherine Dee has gained a place on the prestigious Space Academy for Educators programme.
Katherine is one of 300 teachers from 19 countries to have won a place out of 8,000 applications. There are only 14 successful applicants throughout the UK.
The week-long event takes place in June at the US Space and Rocket Centre in Huntsville, Alabama, where the programme offers 45 hours of intensive classroom, laboratory and training time.
Katherine said: "I am very much looking forward to this fantastic opportunity which will add to my teaching skills and, as a result, benefit my students."
