POLICE in Crewkerne are appealing for the public's help to trace a series of bronze statues stolen from a van in the town.
Overnight on Wednesday, April 23, into Thursday, April 24, an antique dealer had parked his van on Hermitage Street, Crewkerne, when it was broken into.
Stolen from within were bronze statutes valued at around £3,500 by artist Paul Jenkins.
The statues were of a fighting maquette, jumping fox, fighting hares and running greyhounds.
All were signed by the artist and may have been offered for sale locally.
Police would like to hear from anyone with information about the theft or who may have seen the statues for sale. Anyone who can help is asked to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
