TWO Yeovil men took to the global stage in the World Veterans Judo Championships in Malaga last weekend – September 25-28.    Steve Bowles, 48, and Rick Bazley, 49, fought in the over 30’s championships organised by the International Judo Federation, which included over 1,250 competitors from 52 countries.   The pair, who train with Westlands Judo Club in Yeovil, were part of a five-strong team from Shepton Judo Club who made the trip to Malaga’s Sports Palace.    Steve put on a top display to make his way through the first round but lost out to the final medallist, while Rick also lost out in the second round.    Shepton Judo Club is open to all ages and abilities.
