A SUPPORT group meeting for people affected by rheumatoid arthritis will be held later this month.

About 400 people in the area are estimated to have RA and many more are affected by it.

The support group, hosted by the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society, will provide an opportunity for people|to discuss the care and support available.

The meeting is at Holy Trinity Church and Community Centre on Lysander Road, on Wednesday, March 20, starting at 7pm. Jamie Hewitt, Government affairs manager at NRAS, will provide an insight into how to better understand the new benefit|legislation.

NRAS chief executive Ailsa Bosworth, herself an RA patient, said: “These group meetings provide valuable information on how to make effective use of local care services.
