THE Tuesday Market in Yeovil Town Centre is being relaunched by South Somerset Council starting from Friday December 5.

The Markets are located in Lower Middle Street and are held between 8.00am - 3.00pm.

On Friday 5 and Tuesday December 9, Yeovil’s markets will be re-launched with a range of exciting new initiatives including new branding, advertising with local radio, new signage, reduced pitch fees for new and existing traders, free public liability insurance for new businesses.

The council say they have worked hard to encourage new stallholders to the market to increase the range of goods available to shoppers.

There is a programme of live music for the markets on the run up to Christmas to get everyone in the festive mood.

Customers will be able to browse a variety of goods including hot and cold food, local produce, home-ware, gifts, clothes and accessories.

The market website and Facebook pages are being updated regularly with detailed information on the regular traders and other useful information.

Sunday Markets will be taking place from now until Christmas to give everyone an extra opportunity to stock up before Christmas.

Cllr Peter Gubbins chair of SSDC’s Area South Committee said: “Markets are part of Yeovil’s history and are really important to the vibrancy of our town centre.

"A really good market can attract people from miles around and will significantly improve the footfall, which benefits all traders. "We are hopeful that this package of measures will create a renewed interest in Yeovil’s markets.”
