9:00pm Tuesday 30th June 2009 in Yeovil By Kirsty Maclagan
AN event to raise awareness for homeless young people is being held at Christopher House in Yeovil on Saturday.
The housing association, based in Preston road, is hosting an ‘Edge Extreme’ open day in conjunction with Edge Youth, the youth department of Elim Pentecostal Church in the town.
Among the programme of events planned is a community barbeque and a graffiti contest, followed by a live concert headlined by Poole rockers Oposium.
Teams of young people from Edge Youth will be exercising their green fingers by doing some gardening and community action work before creating a giant mural that will be given as a gift to Christopher House.
MP David Laws and Mayor of Yeovil Wes Read will also be visiting the project.
The concert starts at 7pm and is free on entry.
