Model show is coming to the Fleet Air Arm Museum


MORE than 2,000 visitors are expected to attend the Fleet Air Arm Museum’s Model Show on February 13 at RNAS Yeovilton.

The show has become the premier event in the model enthusiasts’ calendar and is on course to attract more traders, clubs and visitors than ever before.

The February show will major on plastic models. Over 130 traders and clubs will be exhibiting everything from model aircraft, boats, trains, figures, tanks and dioramas.

Airfix will run a ‘Make and Paint’ workshop and sponsor competitions designed to recognise high achievement in modelling across all disciplines. So bring along your best models and you could walk away with a prize.

Weather permitting, the highlight of the Show will be a radio controlled flying display by the award winning British Model Flying Association.

The line-up for the display is not yet confirmed however previous years have seen jet powered model aircraft and an internationally acclaimed model helicopter stunt team.

Museum spokesman Jon Jefferies said: “The Fleet Air Arm Museum is the ideal setting for the show.

“After people have seen the models, they can see the real things!

Tickets can be purchased on line on www.fleetairarm.com until February 10.

Doors open at 10am and normal museum admission prices apply. There is no additional charge for the show.
