A 72-YEAR-OLD man has died following a crash at Windwhistle Ridge, between Chard and Yeovil, today (Friday, March 24).
The man, who is from the Chard area, died at Yeovil District Hospital.
The crash involved a Honda car and a lorry and happened near the entrance to Windwhistle Golf Club in foggy conditions.
Fire crews from Chard and Crewkerne were called to the scene and firefighters freed the 72-year-old from the car.
The crash happened at about 10am and the road is expected to remain closed until about 3pm today as investigations continue.
Police would like to hear from any motorists travelling along the A30 around the time of the incident, particularly just before the collision, who may have information to help enquiries.
