THE Cheltenham Gold Cup and Aintree’s Grand National meetings are the highlights of jump racing’s calendar.
Demand for racecourse attendance and hospitality is extremely high for these events, accordingly, and traffic is notoriously tiresome!
So, the proactive Wincanton Racecourse has decided to offer locals the opportunity to enjoy the thrills and spills of these iconic meetings, in comfort at the Somerset track.
They will be holding festival lunches on Friday, March 19, for Cheltenham Gold Cup Day and on Saturday, April 10, for Grand National Day.
The cost will be £30 per head for annual Wincanton members and £35 for non-members.
Guests will be treated to a three-course luncheon with an informative tipster to run through the racecard; the chance to watch the action on a big screen and place your bets with the tote.
To book call Wincanton Racecourse on 01963-32344.
Wincanton’s managing director, Steven Clarke, said: “All racing enthusiasts’ love the Festival’s but attending them can be an exhausting experience having to deal with heavy traffic and crowded public areas while all this comes at a premium price!
“We are offering an easy alternative in a pleasant and friendly atmosphere whereby local racegoers can enjoy the buzz of the action at a fraction of the price.”
