THE Yeovil Jets Men’s Basketball Club, sponsored by The Quedam Centre and Aztec Media, used their size and quickness to dominate Wells and continue their unbeaten run in the league.
After having played the Wells Warriors three times already this season the Jets knew exactly what to expect on both ends of the floor.
They worked the ball inside from the start and used their height advantage to score easy points and get plenty of offensive rebounds.
Joint player of the month for January Vince Howarth had another strong game and dominated inside early by scoring 10 points in the first period alone.
The Jets worked the ball on offense in the second period and hit the open shots when they presented themselves.
Rob Pope did most of the damage in the second period scoring nine points with some strong driving plays.
At half-time the Yeovil Jets had a comfortable lead 44pts-22.
In the second-half the visitors tired as the Jets kept up the defensive pressure against the Warriors better players and started to run away with the game.
All 11 Jets players rotated onto the court and played their parts and the club enjoyed the performance and the team spirit.
Captain Jason Short was close to a triple double again and Stuart Law had his highest scoring game of the season with 14 points. Jets won the game 94pts-54.
The Jets face a much tougher test against Taunton Slapheads on Wed, February 10. Spectators are always welcome. Tip-off is 8.15pm at Yeovil College.
