IVEL Barbarians 1st XV might have fallen to a 36pts-21 defeat at Dorchester on Saturday in the Southern Counties South – but a team spokesman said the players should take heart from their performance.
An Ivel spokesman said: “We may have lost, but the players can take great heart from the game, with a strong team performance and a never say die attitude.
“Man of the match for Ivel was prop Jake Woolmore who contributed strong running, tackling and power at the scrum.”
The spokesman added: “I must mention Simon Watkins who made his first-team debut and showed good strength in the front row and in defence.”
Ivel next week travel away to face Wimborne in what will be another tough game.
