YELLOW Wagtail B maintained their top of the table status in Division One of the Yeovil Skittles League with a 9-3 victory over Cannon Fodder.
But it was a narrow win for the league leaders as they crept to a five-pin success.
It was tough luck on Cannon Fodder duo K. Sollis and C. Gilham who hit excellent merit scores of 65 and 61 respectively.
D. Damon was in good form for second-placed Doug and John’s Boys as he hit 61 in their 10-2 win over relegation-threatened Sparks.
Westland Choppers moved to third with a 12-0 whitewash of Dan’s Diamonds where M. Murley also hit 61 for the winners.
GWRSC slipped to fourth after going down by 19 pints against Wessex Sports in a 11-1 defeat.
Westland A enhanced their survival credentials with a 10-2 win over Traders, but there was more bad news for basement side Halfway Helmets as they lost 10-2 to Conservative Club.
