SHOOTER Ed Ling moved into the Olympic Village in London this week as he prepares to take on the world’s elite.
The 29-year-old, from Wellington, will take part in his second Olympics after he represented Team GB at the 2004 Athens Games.
Ling is one of ten men in the shooting squad and will feature in the Men’s Trap competition – but he is not ruling out the chances of bagging a medal to take home to his Nynehead home.
He said: “I have as good a chance as anyone else and I know that on my day I can beat them.
“I am really looking forward to it and it is something that I’ve been planning since my comeback to the sport in March 2011.
“It will be a fantastic atmosphere and I am just going to try and enjoy it because then I will shoot my best!"
The Men’s Trap Qualification is on August 5 and 6 from 9am with the final held at 4pm on August 6.
