IT has been a busy few weeks for us all with the usual helter skelter that is the Vitality Blast plus a Specsavers County Championship match at Worcestershire.

Let’s start with the four-day game at New Road. That was a really special match for me.

It’s always nice to return to an old club and Worcestershire will always hold a special place in my heart. It’s where I made my first steps in the professional game and I will always to be grateful to them for giving me a chance.

The match itself was certainly a memorable one.

Every single one of the lads played their part in that win. Hildy [James Hildreth], Tom [Abell] and Craig [Overton] were excellent with the bat in our first innings while Josh [Davey] and Jamie [Overton] bowled superbly.

Obviously, their final wicket partnership was a big frustration but we didn’t let that affect us.

Watching Marcus [Trescothick] and Azhar Ali go about their business during our second innings was an absolute pleasure.

Azhar is a player of the highest quality and he has fitted in straight away while Marcus looks like he hasn’t been away.

To slip so seamlessly back into First Class cricket after such a long time out just goes to show what an outstanding player he is.

It was then left to the bowlers to finish the job which they did, and Jamie was outstanding once again. To have a front-row seat when he is thundering in at full pace really is something special.

In terms of the Vitality Blast, we were really disappointed by the performance at Surrey and were determined to rectify things against Middlesex, which we certainly did.

Lewis [Gregory] led from the front again - he and Corey [Anderson] have been superb in this competition.

Jamie’s catch was pretty impressive too and has certainly be doing the rounds on social media!

Hopefully we can continue our momentum with a couple more wins this weekend.
