Yeovil Town 0, Blackburn Rovers 1
JORDAN Rhodes' 13th goal of the season helped Blackburn Rovers inflict a first defeat in five games on Yeovil Town.
Rhodes struck on the hour mark to give the visitors all three points and end the Glovers' recent good run of form, which saw them unbeaten since November 22.
Yeovil twice hit the woodwork but luck was not on their side at Huish Park and they remain one point off the foot on the table.
Manager Gary Johnson said: "It's a disappointing result but we mustn't be devastated about it.
"We didn't get our passing game going in the first half and kept giving the ball away. If you do that against a top team in this division then you'll be in trouble.
"In the second half we kept the ball better, created a number of chances and hit the bar and the post.
"We were in the ascendancy, but then their goal came on the break against the run of play."
Yeovil are away to Bournemouth in their next match on Boxing Day.
And that's it, Yeovil lose 1-0.
Appeals for a Yeovil penalty waved away as Miller takes a tumble.
At the other end Stech makes a double save to deny Rochina and Rhodes.
In to stoppage time now.
Minutes later, Grant opts to shoot himself. He cut in from the left and hit one hard and low. Eastwood fumbled but managed to collect ahead of the lurking Miller.
A dangerous ball is played into the Blackburn box but nobody was there to get on the end of it.
Ralls played it out left to Joel Grant whose direct run took him to the byline where he cut it back.
The momentum appears to be back with Blackburn as they win a flurry of corners.
Final change for Yeovil; Lundstram off, Ed Upson on.
The Glovers have brought on striker James Hayter as they go in search for an equaliser. He has replaced Liam Davis.
Ruben Rochina has replaced Dunn for Blackburn.
Yeovil hit the post again, this time through Joseph Ralls.
The ball falls to him 20 yards out from a blocked free kick and his right foot curler comes back off the post. Eastwood was well and truly beaten.
An hour gone here.
GOAL! Blackburn lead 1-0 and it's that man again Jordan Rhodes.
Superb curling finish into the top right corner after good work from Dunn.
End to end stuff here; seconds after Dunn wastes a good chance for Blackburn, Miller forces a great save from Eastwood and then rattles the bar from the edge of the box - so unlucky.
Much better from Yeovil.
Miller's good run and cross from the left was almost diverted into the Blackburn net by a Rovers defender and from the resulting corner John Lundstram's effort was tipped over by 'keeper Simon Eastwood.
Second half underway here.
Apologies about lack of half time update, had a technical problem.
Good play by Yeovil forces a corner.
Dawson set Joel Grant away on the break and his cross from the right was steered behind by Cairney.
Crucial interception as Ishmael Miller was waiting by the penalty spot.
Injury forces Yeovil into an early substitution. Byron Webster has been replaced by Kevin Dawson.
Marshall squanders another chance. He cut in from the left and curled his shot high and wide from just inside the box.
A minute later, Stech pounces on a low shot from Cairney.
Another great chance for the visitors. Ben Marshall played in a low cross from the left and when it fell to Dunn at the back post, he could only smash it against a defender's legs.
Yellow card for Yeovil captain Jamie McAllister for a late sliding challenge. 27 minutes gone.
Rovers will feel they should be ahead.
Jason Lowe and Dunn have both seen volleyed efforts bounce harmlessly wide from the edge of the box. Neither player could properly connect.
Glovers fans getting slightly frustrated.
Stech is called into action again, this time diving brilliantly to his right to push Tom Cairney's curling effort out for a corner.
Blackburn have started brightly here.
First meaningful chance falls to Rovers on seven minutes.
Chris Taylor was played in down the right by David Dunn but his cross-shot was palmed out by Marek Stech, who is back in goal today.
A minute later Stech easily gathered Dunn's diving header.
The players are out and we're underway here.
The home side will be looking to carry on their good form. They haven't lost since a 2-1 defeat at Doncaster on November 22.
Since that game, they have won two and drawn two of their four matches.
Meanwhile, Rovers come into this game on the back of a 3-2 home win against Millwall.
The Yeovil defence will have to be on its toes to keep top scorer Jordan Rhodes quiet.
He has 12 so far this campaign.
