YEOVIL Town right-back Craig Alcock has praised keeper Alex McCarthy for some excellent performances this season for the Glovers between the posts.
McCarthy was in great form for the Glovers during last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Charlton Athletic at Huish Park, while he pulled off a number of great saves in Tuesday night’s match at Gillingham which Yeovil lost 1-0, but could have been a heavier defeat had it not been for him.
And Alcock, speaking to the BBC, said: “"Thank God for Alex, because he's been magnificent in the last few games and he's kept the scorelines respectable.
“I think that without him, things could have been a lot worse. He's been brilliant for us and I think he will go on to bigger and better things. But it's good for us that he's here at the moment doing what he's doing."
McCarthy is currently on loan with the Glovers from Championship outfit Reading.
