FORMER Yeovil Town goalkeeper Chris Weale has found himself being nominated for an award for scoring a goal – rather than saving them.
Weale scored a dramatic last gasp goal for Yeovil last April in a 2-2 draw with Hereford United at Huish Park in the Coca-Cola League One where he went upfield for a corner and headed the ball home.
Now Weale, who was with the Glovers for the tail end of last season on loan from Bristol City but is now plying his trade for Championship side Leicester City, has been nominated for Sky TV's Soccer AM’s best goals of the year 2009 awards.
Weale’s goal is among the top 20 selected goals for 2009 and you can vote for it by clicking on the link in our “related articles” section on this page of our website.
