YEOVIL Town’s young guns held on for a 3-2 victory over leaders Bristol Rovers on Saturday in the Youth Alliance South West League.
The Under-18s had a great start and found themselves 3-0 up at the half-time interval.
Tyler Sheppard put the Glovers in front inside the first 60 seconds of the match and then he added his second of the day on ten minutes.
Yeovil further extended their lead shortly before the break through Cory Lewis.
But Rovers, who top the Youth Alliance South West League, came back into the game in the second-half with goals from Shane Williams on 48 minutes and then Jordan Tillson in the 65th minute.
It meant a nervous final 25 minutes for the Glovers, but they held firm to record a much-needed win.
