SITUATION

Bickenhall is situated in a most attractive area of countryside approximately seven miles east of Taunton between the villages of Staple Fitzpaine and Hatch Beauchamp. The latter lies approximately one mile away and offers local facilities which includes a Primary School and Public House. The County town of Taunton provides a comprehensive range of shopping, leisure, culture, scholastic and educational facilities. The village is very well situated for access to national communications with the M5 motorway via Junction 25. Taunton has a train line with direct access to London Paddington in under two hours and the A303 is only five miles away and provides a link to London via the M3 motorway.

The surrounding countryside is a beautiful unspoilt area of Somerset, which lies within the vale of Taunton Deane. The vale is overlooked by the Blackdown Hills which lie just to the west of the property and by the Quantock Hills, both of which are Designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. These hills provide excellent opportunities for walking, riding and other rural pursuits.

DESCRIPTION

Swallow Field stands well away from a quiet country lane and is one of three stone barns which were converted some years ago. It now provides an outstanding single storey home in a glorious rural setting with superb 180 degree views to the South West across adjoining farmland and countryside.

The well proportioned accommodation has been refurbished to a very high standard and includes a sitting room with a vaulted ceiling, exposed elm roof trusses, oak floor and exceptional views through picture windows along one wall. In the sitting room there is an open fireplace with a double wood burning stove, which opens through to the kitchen. The kitchen/breakfast room has been refitted with a quality kitchen which includes granite worktops and moulded architraves and a number of integrated appliances with slate flooring throughout and a door opening into the rear garden. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, which includes a shower cubicle. There are three further bedrooms and a family bathroom suite including a fitted corner bath and a fully tiled shower cubicle.

Outside the property is approached over a short length of private roadway past two other properties and leads to double entrance gates, which provide access to a drive and lead to a detached double garage, which has been sub divided to provide a separate office suite. To the rear of the property there are beautiful mature gardens, which offer a good degree of seclusion and undoubtedly an outstanding feature of the property. At the back of the barn, is a superb timber decking area with a substantial oak framed seating area, which overlooks the garden. There is a further covered seating area, adjacent raised flower bed borders and a raised decking area. The garden is flanked by a small stream which runs along one boundary and there is a line of trees along the far bank.
