THE dynamic Brummagem Bardess herself, Debs Newbold, is coming to Somerset with her stand-up storytelling, strictly for grown ups.
In Debs’ popular show Tales from the Bawdy Bardess, Chaucer, Bocaccio and the anonymous writer of a fruity
French geste get a reworking that has audiences clutching their sides and reaching for The Canterbury Tales.
It promises to be a rollicking evening of medieval banter, bawdiness and belly laughs.
Armed with a quick wit, dirty laugh and a way with an audience, Debs has enthralled audiences at The Royal Opera House, The British Museum, The British Library and for BBC Radio among others.
Debs is the storyteller for Shakespeare's Globe as well as storyteller in residence at the English Folk Dance and Song Society and was a double nominee at last year's British Awards for Storytelling Excellence.
Tales from the Bawdy Bardness at The David Hall, South Petherton. Friday, February 5. Also at Churchinford village hall on Saturday, February 6.
