A 19-YEAR-OLD man from Yeovil has been charged with two counts of possession with the intent to supply class A drugs in Yeovil.

Jakey Ross from Sedgemoor Close, Yeovil, was arrested yesterday afternoon (September 13) and has since be charged.

He has been bailed and will attend court in October.

It comes as police reveal that four men have also been arrested on drug offences in the town.

They were arrested when police stopped a car that had been seen driving erratically while they were on patrol on Queensway in Yeovil at around 11pm yesterday evening (September 13).

PC Warren and PC Spalding searched the men - two from Yeovil, one from Slough and one from Birmingham - and the car at the scene which resulted in the discovery and seizure of significant sums of Class A drugs, cash and offensive weapons.

The four men, aged 34, 25, 20 and 19 have been arrested for possession with the intent to supply.

The 20-year-old has also been arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon. All four remain in custody at this time.

Sgt Katie Maun said; “Being able to take these drugs and weapons off the street can make a huge difference.

"We continue to work hard to deal with the issues that drugs and the associated anti-social behaviour can create.”

Sgt Maun continued “I cannot emphasise enough our commitment to dealing with this issue, our understanding of the impact on the local community and the need for the public to work with us.
