STAFF at a Yeovil laundry company are spinning around with delight after breaking a company record.

CLEAN, a leading independent laundry company providing linen and workwear rental services, has announced this month that its Yeovil laundry has broken a company production and delivery record.

The firm provides laundry services to a host of businesses in the leisure industry, and recorded a spike in production and delivery over the August Bank Holiday Weekend, with thousands of Brits heading to the south west for a staycation to lap up the sun.

During this week, CLEAN’s laundry facility in Yeovil celebrated record breaking numbers as the dedicated team at the site processed and delivered a record breaking 634,000 items to customers throughout the South and South West of England.

Speaking of the record Geoff Milverton, CLEAN’s Yeovil site director, said: “I’m so proud of what the team has achieved during just one week of production.

"Summer is always a challenging time for hoteliers as they see such a spike in guests and further pressure was added due to the wonderful hot weather we had.

"Quality in all areas will always be the top priority for us at CLEAN, as it is for all of our customers, so breaking this record whilst maintaining the exceptionally high standards of service we are known for was no mean feat.

"I feel that our team here at Yeovil has really gone above and beyond this summer so I’d like to say a big thank you to each and every team member.”

This achievement beats the laundry’s previous record – which was achieved in summer 2015 – for the total number of items processed in a single week by more than 10,000. This equates to more than 90,000 units each day for seven days.
