MOTORISTS experienced delays on the M5 northbound today (September 24) as a dog was on the road.
Traffic was temporarily held between J21 (Weston) and J20 (Clevedon) as a dog was on the main carriageway.
Eyewitnesses say the dog was running down the hard-shoulder towards Weston and its owner was in pursuit.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police, said: "We were called at 9.45am to reports of a dog loose on the M5 northbound between J21 and J20.
"In the interests of public safety we implemented a series of rolling road blocks so the animal could be caught.
"The dog was reunited with its owner at 10.15am and the road blocks removed."
