SIGNED memorabilia from Ed Sheeran, Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard and David Jason is set to go under the hammer at an auction to support the launch of a new baby loss charity.

The prize items will be up for grabs at a black tie event called Belle’s Ball.

The event is organised by a Chard-based group called Single Yellow Rose which was set up last year.

The group’s leader is Daisy Hutchings, who started the group after her daughter Belle was born sleeping at 35 weeks.

Daisy said: “We are running the black tie event and it is going to have an auction and a raffle.

“The auction items include a signed David Jason book, a signed Ed Sheeran CD, football boots signed by Wayne Rooney and Steven Gerrard, an England Rugby Ball and a cricket bat signed too.

“We have also got some more everyday stuff for people to bid on.”

The raffle prizes include vouchers worth at least £20 donated by local businesses including restaurants and hairdressers.

She added: “The money is going towards a memorial garden in Chard. We are in talks with the council about where that is going to be.”

Daisy took part in the tough mudder - an obstacle course more than 10 miles long - and a truck pull which helped her raise more than £1,000 for SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society).

After giving back to that charity, Daisy and her friends are now hoping to set up their own charity.

It will have the same name, Single Yellow Rose, and they need £5,000 to register as a charity.

Once set up, they are planning to fund a memorial garden and also refurbish the bereavement room at Yeovil Hospital.
