Chard Carnival was a storming success as the crowds turned out in spite of a wet weather forcast.
There was little sign of Storm Callum, which had battered parts of UK for the past two days.
The children's carnival boasted glorious sunshine and the rain held off in the evening until the second half of the procession was coming down the high street.
