THE sun was shining as Chard young carnival enthusiasts paraded through the town at the weekend.

Chard Children’s Carnival saw good crowds turn out and a number of energetic entries.

A carnival spokesman said: “A huge thank you and well done to everyone who came out, supported and entered the children procession.”

The best local entry went to Ruby Jo Pas’ Little Miss Jungle 2018, while Manor Court School picked up the spirit of carnival and mayor’s choice awards for Flavour of Brazil.

Generations CC was best overall.
