A YELLOW weather warning has been put in place for wind as Somerset is set for rather wet and blustery start.

The weather warning issued by the Met Office is in place until 2pm today (Thursday, November 29).

A Met Office spokesman said: "A spell of wet and windy weather is expected, with a very small chance of very strong and disruptive winds."

Although the weather will be rather unpleasant with strong winds and heavry rain forecast early on in the morning, temperatures will stay fairly mild at around 13C for much of the day.

The early heavy rain is expected to clear later in the day leaving some sunny spells and showers.

It will remain quite windy into the evening and while there will be clear spells, further shows are expected, which could be heavy with the risk of thunder.
