A MAN is set to appear in court after a stabbing attack on Christmas Day in Chard. 

Two men were injured in the incident which took place in Fore Street between 9-9.30pm on December 25.

Avon and Somerset Police are investigating the incident and have charged a 38-year-old man, named Sylwester Mazur, of Henson Park.

He has been charged with two counts of wounding with intent and possessing a blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "The charges are in connection with an incident in Fore Street at around 9.30pm on Christmas Day. Two men were treated for stab injuries in hospital but have since been discharged.

"Mazur is due to appear at Taunton Magistrates' Court this morning."
