A GROUP of Year 10 students from The King Alfred School (KAS) have been awarded their bronze Duke Of Edinburgh award after months of volunteering.

Over the last few months the students have completed a number of physical and mental tasks in order to win the award which was founded by the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Phillip.

The students have done everything from teaching children martial arts to volunteering at local youth clubs and it has enabled them to learn more about life outside school and helped them gain new skills.

Year 10 student Libby Ruston, said: “It brings out the best in you as it makes you come together as a team."
