THE mystery of a dog picked up by police has been solved.
The dog is now back home after running off this afternoon (Friday).
The white and black canine made its way from Rockwell Green into Wellington, near North Street Car Park.
It was taken to Mount Vets, where it was given the once over, but PCSO Victoria Henderson put out an appeal for its owners as its microchip didn't contain those details.
Owner Pete Fowle said: "She's a little escape artist. We can't turn our back on her for a minute.
"We'd like to thank whoever took her to Mount Vets."
