FIREFIGHTERS rushed to a property in Stoke St Mary after a heating pump caught fire.
Two fire crews from Taunton were called to the property in Stoke Hill, Stoke St Mary at 7.57am today (February 23) following a call from the owner of the property who said the heating pump for the swimming pool had caught fire.
When crews arrived and investigated they discovered there was a small fire in the pool house involving a heating pump and set to work extinguishing it with one hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus.
The fire, which was started accidentally, was put out by 8.18am but heavy smoke lingered in the pool house and firefighters did not make the scene safe until 9.15am .
Crews remained at the scene and used thermal imaging cameras and ventilation fans to make the scene safe.
The fire was contained to the pool house which sustained smoke damaged and no one was injured in the incident.
Duty of care was left with the owner.
