A MASSIVE new prize is now being offered for the County Gazette’s Battle of the Bands competition after a state-of-the-art studio jumped on board.

The deadline has been extended for a chance to be one of six top local bands to play the Somerset Show, and now the Gazette has teamed up with Muddy Road Studios to offer a grand prize on the day.

The Somerset Show is being held at Taunton Racecourse on July 14 and there, Muddy Road owner James Willment and Gazette editor Paul Jones will judge their favourite.

The act rated as the best after the show will win a two-day recording session at Muddy Road.

James said: “We are offering two days of recording from 10am until 6pm, and then with set up the night before.

“The best thing is the band are all relaxed, know where the place is, everything is set up, and I have all the mics in.”

James will take the role of sound engineer for the session, and can do producing too. On a fourth day he will then mix, and the band can join him again.
