DO you know a young person under 20 who lives in Somerset - and you are particular proud of what they have achieved?

Nominations are now being taken for the 2019 Pride of Somerset Youth Awards, recognising the achievemtns of young people across the county.

They may have excelled in sport, music, the arts or academically; helped raise money for charity, caring for others, spent time volunteering and made a particular impact in their community. They may have overcome an adversity either physical or personal. Or they may have undertaken a one-off act of heroism.

Whatever exceptional thing they have done, you think they deserve recognition, as they make you proud and Somerset should be proud.

Send the nominee’s full name, age, school/college, postal address and contact phone number with a maximum of 200 words on their achievements to newsdesk@countygazette.co.uk – putting Youth Awards in the subject heading or to Youth Awards Somerset County Gazette, Tangier 2, Tangier Central, Taunton, TA1 4AS, or online via countygazette.co.uk/posya2019.

The deadline for nominations is Friday, April 13, with an awards ceremony planned for May 10 at Bridgwater & Taunton College, Taunton.
