THE premises of a shoe store that have been empty for almost two years is to be turned into a charity shop.
Work is being carried out at the former Jones Bootmaker outlet in North Street ahead of its opening.
The store will raise money for mental health charity Mind, which is based locally in Sussex Lodge, in Station Road.
Jones closed in August 2017.
Mind is currently recruiting a manager and assistant manager to recruit a team of volunteers to run the shop.
Mind previously had a charity shop in the town's Roman Road area.
It was recently annonced that Cats Protection plans to open a charity shop in the former Saltrock premises in Fore Street, Taunton, which has been closed since June last year.
