FIFTEEN people are set to undergo dramatic headshaves to show their support for a new Chard babyloss charity.

The Nayely Adelpha Foundation was set up by Nathan and Emileen Clapp after their daughter was stillborn on December 19 last year.

The pair are hosting a fundraising day on June 9, with 15 people already signed up for headshaves or waxes.

That will include the Chard couple.

Nathan said: “After we lost Nayely 16 weeks into pregnancy, we couldn’t find any support locally for our eight year old daughter Londyn due to her age, so we decided that we needed to set up a support service for siblings in the Somerset area.

“The money we raise on the day will be split between local charities, Single Yellow Rose and Little Daffodils.

“Also Love Musgrove for the way we were treated during this most painful time.

“We will also be donating to Tommy’s as they are doing vital research into preventing miscarriage and babyloss.”

The fundraising day will run from midday at Phoenix Hotel in Chard.

Emileen said: “I honestly don’t know how we would have got through this awful time without the help and kindness of the hospital, the staff and many other charities set up to help bereaved families like ours.

“Our sleeping beauty was treated with the utmost respect during the journey of birth, post mortem and on to the funeral and we will never forget the kindness shown during this impossible time.

“Thanks to donations from independent charities we were able to take memory boxes - not only for us but for the baby’s siblings too.”

Nathan will be having his beard shaved off, and his back, chest and legs waxed.

Emileen will also be having her head shaved.

“We have a lot of other people taking part in #gobaldforbabyloss as well as a raffle, tombola, stalls, and a 50/50 draw,” Nathan added.

“Come along and do your bit for charity. Any donation will be appreciated and will help these charities to continue their good work.

“If anyone needs support at any stage of grief, no matter how long ago it occurred, they can contact us.”
