A PUB in Taunton has reopened following a six-figure makeover.

The Stonegallows Inn, Hungry Horse, in Taunton, threw its doors open this week and kicked off its new offering in style, showcasing the pub’s brand-new look following a two-week closure.

The popular venue has been significantly refurbished inside.

The beer garden has been extended with additional seating and the introduction of outdoor lighting, as well as new tiling on the inside.

The revamped venue on Stonegallows reopened on Monday May 20, with a visit from past mayor of Taunton Deane, councillor Marcia Hill and Councillor John Hunt.

John Paul Brumwell, general manager at the Stonegallows Inn Hungry Horse, said: “We’ve had a fantastic time celebrating the reopening and our Taunton neighbours really came out to support us.

Our guests are at the heart of what we do, so it was great to be able to mark the reopening with the local community.

“We’ve already had great feedback on the refurbishment, with many guests hoping the spring sunshine will return so they can enjoy the new extended beer garden for example.

“The team and I can’t wait to welcome new and returning visitors to the Stonegallows Inn Hungry Horse very soon.”

Six new jobs have been created following the revamp of the pub on the A38.
