A BRIDGWATER farmer has celebrated his 100th birthday with a card from the Queen.

Wesley Adams has now equalled his sister who reached her centenary in 2017.

He celebrated the occasion in a low key way with his immediate family.

Amazingly he is still living on the same farm his family moved to in 1942 when they moved to Bridgwater.

Wesley spent all his working life managing the dairy farm before relinquishing control to his sons in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

After retiring, Wesley could often be found in his workshop making useful things for the farm well into his 80s.

Using his welding skills he made the farm gates as well as a lot of ornamental ironwork for friends and family, such as pergolas, house signs and curtain poles.
