TAUNTON St Andrew’s will be hoping their West of England Premier League season is one of two halves as they head to Clevedon tomorrow (12.30pm start).
The Saints sit bottom of the Premier 1 table at the halfway mark after four consecutive defeats, the most recent of which came at Lansdown last Saturday despite a sparkling 152 from Somerset’s Eddie Byrom.
Last year’s champions Clevedon are also struggling this season, and the Saints could leapfrog them with a win this weekend.
Premier 2 Bristol/Somerset leaders Taunton Deane host Ilminster at the Convent Field tomorrow (12.30pm).
The two sides have enjoyed plenty of close contests in recent years and the reverse fixture, on the opening day of this season, saw the Deane edge home by one wicket.
Taunton, who picked up a confidence-boosting win at North Perrott last weekend, head to Midsomer Norton.
In the Somerset Division, Taunton Deane 2nd XI travel to Street, while Wellington are at home to Minehead.
