A FRAUDSTER working in a jewellers in Taunton pocketed £5,000 after inventing false refunds for customers.
Damien Archer, 35, of Kilve Close, Taunton, fiddled the money out of H. Samuel, which has a shop in East Street, over ten months.
He pleaded guilty at Taunton Magistrates' Court to fraud by dishonestly making a false representation between June 17 last year and April 26 this year.
Archer was ordered to pay £4,998.98 compensation to H. Samuel at the rate of £20 a month - meaning it will take him more than 20 years to complete the payments.
He was handed a community order with a four-month curfew, when he must remain at home between 7pm and 7am.
He must also carry out 250 hours unpaid work over the next year.
