FIREFIGHTERS rescued a woman from a river in a village near Taunton.
Crews were called to reports of a woman waist deep in water off Church Lane, Ruishton.
As well as two fire engines from Taunton, a specialist rescue team was summomned from Barnstaple.
The woman was rescued using throw lines, a ladder and water rescue gear.
She suffered minor injuries and was left in the care of paramedics following the incident shortly after 9pm yesterday (Saturday).
